Frontlion vs Qudini (Verint)

Purpose-built platform or part of a larger suite?

Frontlion is the cloud-native in-person service platform for stores, branches, clinics, and government offices, with no hardware required. Qudini is Verint's retail queue-management and appointment product, part of a broad customer-engagement portfolio. The difference is focus: for Verint, in-person queuing is one product line among many; for Frontlion, it is the whole platform.

Frontlion or Qudini: which should you choose?

The short answer

Choose Qudini if you are standardizing on the broader Verint portfolio and want retail queuing and appointments from the same vendor as your workforce and customer engagement tools. Choose Frontlion if you want a purpose-built platform that blends walk-ins and appointments, deploys in weeks, monetizes the wait, and answers analytics questions in plain English.

What does Frontlion do that Qudini does not?

Purpose-built, all the roadmap

Frontlion does one thing: in-person service. Every release ships for the queue, appointment, associate view, and analytics, and stores go live in weeks.

One queue around the associate

Walk-ins and booked appointments in a single queue and one associate view, with context before, no-show gaps filled, and outcomes captured after.

The wait becomes a revenue layer

Retail media and in-queue marketing: placements, offers, and cross-sell while customers wait, with campaign management and measurement built in.

Analytics you can question

Ask "which stores had the longest P90 waits last month, and what did we lose to walk-offs" in plain English, and get an answer plus demand forecasting.

What is Qudini?

Qudini is a retail queue-management and appointment product that made its name on busy store floors for major retail and telecom brands, and today it is part of Verint. Its center of gravity is retail: walk-in queues, booked appointments, and in-store events.

What Qudini (Verint) does well:

  • Retail heritage. Earned in demanding, high-traffic store environments for major retail and telecom brands, and it shows in the feature set.
  • Part of a broad CX suite. Verint customers can source queuing alongside workforce management and engagement tools in one vendor relationship.
  • Retail appointments and events. Booked appointments, services, and in-store events sit beside the walk-in queue.
  • Large-vendor resources. Verint brings global reach, enterprise security practices, and long-standing retailer relationships.

What is Frontlion?

Frontlion is the in-person service platform. It instruments every visit across queuing, appointments, communications, and analytics, closing the last data blind spot in the enterprise: the branch, the store, the clinic, and the county office.

Experience

Visitors check in from a phone, QR code, or kiosk and wait wherever they like, with live updates.

Orchestration

Walk-ins and appointments blend into one queue, routed by your rules and balanced across locations.

Intelligence

Every visit becomes first-party data your leaders can question in plain English, with answers and recommendations.

When is Qudini the right choice?

If your organization is already committed to the Verint portfolio, with workforce management or engagement tools in production and a preference for fewer vendors, Qudini is a reasonable shortlist entry. It has served some of the most demanding store floors in the world, and features like event booking reflect that history.

The boundary is structural, and it applies to any large portfolio, not one vendor: when queuing is one product line among dozens, roadmap attention and specialist support are divided across the whole suite. That is arithmetic, not criticism. A purpose-built platform spends its entire roadmap and support organization on this one problem.

For a store-operations leader, the practical question is simple: which team owns the queuing product end to end, what shipped for it last year, and who picks up the phone when queue logic misbehaves on the Saturday before a launch.

Questions to ask in your evaluation

Ask both vendors these, and insist on specifics:

  1. How much of your roadmap in the last twelve months shipped for the queuing product specifically? Ask for release notes, not a vision deck.
  2. Which team owns the queuing product end to end, from product management through specialist support, and how do we reach it directly?
  3. Ask any vendor: how is roadmap investment decided across the portfolio, and what continuity commitments exist for the specific product you are buying?
  4. Can walk-ins and booked appointments blend into a single queue with one associate view, and what does the associate see before the interaction starts? See it live, in a store scenario.
  5. What happens during the wait itself: can the platform present offers or cross-sell prompts, and measure what they produce?
  6. Can a non-technical leader ask the analytics a question in plain English and get an answer without a BI request?

Frequently asked questions

Can Frontlion replace Qudini?

Yes. Because Frontlion is cloud-native and software-only, replacements typically run in weeks: configure services and routing rules, run a parallel pilot in one or two stores while Qudini remains live, then cut over store by store. Store teams keep one associate view for walk-ins and appointments through the transition.

Is Qudini part of Verint?

Yes. Qudini is Verint’s retail queue management and appointment product, offered within a much larger customer engagement portfolio. That is a structure, not a weakness by itself. It does mean your evaluation should establish which team owns the product’s roadmap and support, and what has shipped for it recently.

Does Frontlion handle both walk-ins and appointments?

Yes, natively. Walk-ins and scheduled appointments blend into one intelligent queue with a single associate view. Rules you configure handle priority, skills-based routing, and SLA thresholds, and no-show gaps fill automatically so service capacity is never stranded by an empty appointment slot.

What industries does Frontlion serve?

Banking and credit unions, retail, healthcare, government and military, and education. The same platform serves a store, a bank branch, a county office, and a clinic, which matters to organizations operating more than one kind of service environment.

Do we need kiosks or an app to run Frontlion?

No. Customers join from their phone via QR code, web link, or text message, and associates manage the queue from any browser or device. There is no app to download and no required hardware. Kiosks and displays are supported where a store wants them, and nothing depends on them.

Can waiting customers see offers or advertising in the queue?

Yes. Frontlion includes an in-queue revenue layer: retail media placements and cross-sell prompts delivered while customers wait, with campaign management and measurement built in. Retailers use it to turn wait time into attention they already own, which shifts the platform from a cost line toward a revenue contributor.

See what your locations are not measuring

The fastest way to choose is not a longer feature list. It is seeing your own stores instrumented: conversion during the wait, walk-off you cannot see today, and P90 wait by store and daypart. The Frontline Value Assessment does that with your numbers, in one working session.
